“If you want to find the secrets of the universe, think in terms of energy, frequency and vibration.” —Nicolai Tesla
I always knew I would call Mike, when it was time to bring in alternative therapies for Vernon. I just thought it would be under different circumstances. I pictured ourselves at home again, possibly at the end of all our lovely Medi-Medi benefits. Remember how I was so adamant to find a wheelchair-ready home when it was time to find a new rental? I had plans!
Now it seems we get the best of both worlds: 24-hour nursing care and the freedom to look into holistic options. Like I said, I knew I would eventually call Mike, and over the past month, I kept reminding myself to call him. Last Tuesday night, I ran into him at a summer BBQ party hosted by the home church we met in three years ago.
“Perfect!” I may have told him. “Now I don’t have to call you. Check that off the to-do list!
We met up at his studio the next day and he introduced me to one of his PEMT mats. Where do I even start? When I heard the words “Tesla Coils,” I thought: “How Steampunk!” Others may see what it does and say: “Whoa! It’s like Star Trek!” Either way, it’s out of this world. Yuk Yuk!
In a nutshell, from my best understanding, this mat emits various frequencies to the body lain upon it, oxygenating it at a cellular level. Ok, imagine me with a straight face, saying all that. It’s not that I don’t believe it can work (because I actually DO) its just a mouthful.
From my own experience, I only tried out the mat for 15 minutes or so last week, but I noticed my shoulder stress had dropped at least a half inch and I felt markedly uplifted. I noticed that my whole body felt more balanced, I could feel the small vibrations the same on my feet as my head. It made sense to me to try this as it affects the entire body. Vernon has so many problems, I don’t even know where to start, so the all-over (holistic) approach of this kind of treatment makes a lot of sense right now. Because Mike was willing to take the mats with him to visit Vernon, I bought a small package of sessions.
Today, I brought Mike up with his mat to see how this kind of approach might work. Vernon does roll around and move around on his bed often, so I’m not sure if he was just doing his normal thing or if he was really just soaking up the mat’s energy like a cat in the sun, but he took to it well, seeming to understand something different was happening. Mike spent some time with Vernon but also took a little hands-on time with Joe, who has bone and muscle problems of his own.
It was a great morning. The room was filled with love and respect and hope. Mike put on some music that helped Vernon relax, and at the end of the day, Joe said this:
” Vernon, lets not watch the tv anymore. Lets just listen to music we like instead.”
Vernon agreed.
Now, isn’t that the soundest, wisest suggestion you’ve heard all day?
You never know where you might find wisdom. Listen close.
